Calico Critters Playtable - My Personal Recommendation

Well Made
I bought this for my peace of mind. So many peices with this collection!But this is a great way to store all the Critter stuff. The drawer is large and the edges keep things from ending up on the floor. We have the large house with the green roof and it just fits with a little room all around. You could also just use the table to play without a house as there is a scene painted on the table.

I used a power screw driver and put it together in about 20 minutes (I'm pretty good at assembling things). It is very sturdy and has lots of bracing at all the corners. I have one visable chip on a corner but since I got this at a crazy low Amazon price I'll just get out some white paint and deal with it. FYI Ships in original packaging.

I agree with most of what has already been said in review of this product...

BUT I think, even if you measure it out beforehand, and know you're getting a itsy bitsy table (though with a great drawer, I agree) it just isn't roomy enough for easy play (if you have one of the larger houses). If you buy the playground, have fun trying to squeeze it in there somewhere. If you buy any of the really cute 'play-place' stuff that Calico Critter sells, like that thing with the hot air balloon, or even the little Ferris wheel. Not good (there isn't anywhere to fit that in!).

If you have one of their small houses maybe it would work but then you can't fit all the fun furnishings in those.

I think if you don't have a lot of calico critter things it would be great. For example; If you had a few families and a playground, then I suppose it would be very good.

I hope someday they put out a play table that actually fits their hotel or their big house...

Great Purchase
Just like the first reviewer, I don't think I have ever posted an online review, but had to rave about this toy. I bought this barn for my girls who love animals, not dolls. They have been playing with it nearly every day (along with many, many animals) for several months now. I can't believe how sturdy and well made this barn is. It's also a snap to put together. This barn will be in our family for a long time, it's that well made. I wish I had bought it when they were toddlers, instead of 6 and 9 years old.

First let me start by saying, I have NEVER reviewed a toy online before. The the superior quality and wonderful reaction from my children made it impossible for me not to!!

From the second this was opened, my children literally jumped for joy. It is large and sturdy enough that all 3 kids can play with it at the same time. I purchased the large set of farm animals and the fence along with this and I literally cannot pry them away! We've NEVER had such a strong reaction to a toy.

I am also completely impressed with the quality of the barn and animals. I looked at other all-wooden barns and was not impressed. This barn is made with a combination of plastic and wood and is easy to put together. It far exceeds the quality of ANY OTHER TOY WE OWN. I did not realize that this type of quality still existed in the toy world. I do wish they made dollhouses, firehouses and more! This toy will withstand the test of time and is worth every penny.
