Not what I was looking for
I bought this exact set at Wal-Mart online for $10. At that price for an entire wooden set of dollhouse furniture, I figured I couldn't go wrong. The listing that I'm seeing here is priced at $35, and I would never pay that much for this set.

These pieces do NOT fit standard size wooden dollhouses at all. The dolls that usually come with those houses are far too small, and Barbies are way to big! The bed is 9.5 inches long, Barbie is 11.5 inches tall, and dollhouse dolls tend to be around 5 inches tall. This set is right in the middle and NOTHING on the market is quite the right size. Furthermore, the pieces aren't even in scale with each-other! The stove, vanity, and sink are way to small compared to the table and chairs, and what they're calling a 'coffee table' seems more like a step-stool compared to the living room furniture. The chairs that are supposed to go with the tables in this set are too tall, there is only the tiniest fraction of a inch for the doll's legs to...

This furniture is very cute, durable and the best I have ever seen. Fit barbie dolls perfectly. The only thing I would change is the collor of the furniture which is an ugly yellow. I painted it pink and white and then it became PERFECT. Purchase with no fear, you will not regret it.

Finally got it together
Quality and workmanship are very nice (Chinese of course) and it was quite beautiful when I got it together and made some bedding for it. The problem was getting it together -- process is counterintuitive. You think it's going to be one of those "turn the screw and it clicks in" but it's more old fashioned elbow grease that wins out in the end.

Very cute but watch for quality
At this point I'm happy with the furniture but that's only after I had to call Melissa & Doug for some replacements. When I first opened the living room set, I was very disappointed with the quality - a leg was missing from the recliner and 2 tables were glue completely lopsided. However, I called their customer service line and was very pleased with the response. They sent me replacements for free and appeared very concerned that the quality was bad trying to find the specific lot numbers so that something could be done on a larger scale in the their manufacturing.

The concept of a lifelike dollhouse was a bit foreign to our toddler, but soon enough, her Fisher-Price Little People moved in; and both big and small versions meshed well with the furniture. Then the Asian family with baby and nursery decided to eat and sleep outdoors. We researched high and low for a doll bed that would fit our daughter's American Girl dolls and still be realistically priced. It is very durable; and features pink and white gingham bedding with attached pillows. If your child is into pretend play with their dolls or bears, this would be a good purchase!
